Continuous Load Testing - A Journey to Performance at Scale
Application performance has never been more critical than it is now. Applications of all types are subject to intense scrutiny over their performance, with research showing more than 1/3 of users will leave an app to never return if performance is not satisfactory. Though performance should be a key concern for all software development teams, too few are investing the resources in testing their application at load that are required to identify performance regressions and bottlenecks. The good news for teams at all levels of performance testing maturity is that there have never been more options available for performance testers of all levels. Whether you are just getting started with your journey or looking to take your performance testing practice to the next level, you won't want to miss this session highlighting all of the latest tips and tricks in this ever evolving industry.

    1:00 p.m. - 1:40 p.m.
Using BDD to test a Robotic Process Automation solution
The talk is sharing insights into a real life project that was completed by DVT. We were responsible for the testing of a new investment bot. We faced many challenges: distributed teams, being too Agile, red tape (banks have plenty of these), complex financial models, ever changing requirements, and more. The presentation takes the form of a powerpoint presentation where I share our journey on the project with the audience. Telling a story is probably is probably the best description. A short video of the bot in action will also be presented. The learnings or takeaways for attendees would be that: change is sometimes good, BDD is not as scary as it is made out to be, there is a place for manual testers in BDD, you can be Agile and use your own way of work, and test automation with it's associated reporting is a key success factor.

    Software Quality Anti-Patterns in Testing
From metrics-based micromanagement to the law of triviality, software testing has been subjected to a standard set of responses to testing’s ambiguous, uncharted journey into a sea of bias and experimentation. There are many anti-patterns associated with managing software testing and their effect on quality, from how you organize and fund testing, to the tools you use to automated and manage the process. Through this talk, Keith will explore common solutions to problems regularly encountered by software testing efforts and the unintended consequences, dysfunction, and risks they introduce to your organization.
    3:50 p.m. - 4:30 p.m.
Test Psychology - The Psychosocial Tester
Have you ever wondered why you are a tester and not an accountant? What it is about your mindset that makes you able to spot the errors others may miss? This talk uses psycho-social psychology and some audience interaction to challenge perceptions about testing skills, people and social interactions – I hope you will also have some fun.
